Adam Finchler (NYC) + Gemini Eye + Tom Conway

Formed equally by New York’s anti-folk and DIY scenes, songwriter Adam Finchler (Brooklyn) makes music and other miscellaneous projects under a unified creative sensibility that is playful, odd, and genuine. As Don Giovanni Records co-founder Joe Steinhardt says, “Adam has always found a way to take the absurd and elevate it to an art”. On Finchler’s 2024 debut LP, “The Room,” small-but-meaningful stories and eclectic instrumentals interweave in surprising ways to invoke invisible contradictions lurking in everyday life – disguised as peculiar moments, characters, and landscapes that stick in the mind. Window washers dangling from scaffolding on the Freedom Tower, a righteous colonoscope on its way up the president, and a post-industrial rooftop gazer all make appearances in this “genuinely funny and just-as-strongly gripping” (Rosy Overdrive) snapshot of Finchler’s world.
“one of the most unusual, distinctive and delightful albums of the year…like Arthur Russell in a cocktail shaker…If it’s an original perspective in a songwriter, look no further.” (KLOF Mag)
“…one of the most striking and unique-sounding albums I’ve heard this year.” – Rosy Overdrive (Best of 2024, #29)
“…compared with the twistier narratives of Jeffrey Lewis or the ribald non-sequiturs of Adam Green, Finchler’s writing is defined by a more delicate variety of abstraction, one that flirts with hometown nostalgia but never loses its knowing wink.
