Aidan Baker is a Canadian musician and writer currently based in Berlin, Germany. Baker makes music that encompasses ambient/experimental, krautrock and postpunk, jazz and contemporary classical. In addition to his solo work he also performs with various group projects, most notably the drone/doom duo Nadja. He has collaborated with such artists as Tim Hecker, Andrea Belfi, Simon Scott (of Slowdive), Jussi Lehtisalo (of Circle/Pharaoh Overlord), Carla Bozulich (of Evangelista, The Geraldine Fibbers) and many others. Baker has toured and performed around the world and released numerous albums on such labels as Karlrecords, Important Records, Southern Lord, and Alien8 Recordings. Recent solo releases are Pithovirii (Glacial Movements) and the Trio Not Trio (Gizeh Records), a series of collaborative albums with Tim Wyskida (Khanate, Blind Idiot God), Daron Beck (Pinkish Black), MJ Guider, John Colpitts (Man Forever, Oneida), and others. Baker’s next solo release is Songs of Waking & Weather, a novel with accompanying CD soundtrack, coming out in 2025 with The Garotte.
