FLINT x LOGO REWIND

We are excited to announce our next exhibition to coincide with the release of the new book Logo Rewind: Trademarks of Medieval Norwich’ by Darren Leader, published by UEA Publishing Project.
Often viewed as some of the earliest recorded examples of commercial trademarks they can still be found across Norwich city centre today. The marks were used to indicate craftmanship by stonemasons, saddlers, cutlers and goldsmiths and by city artisans such as woolen and tapestry weavers, drapers, tanners, grocers, bakers and brewers.
The exhibition and book reveals the striking modernist characteristics of medieval design, and the spirit of independent trade that connects with the Norwich Lanes today.
Darren has painstakingly collected and digitally remade over 200 of these trademarks and we are pleased to exhibit a carefully curated selection of these works.
Available at the Private View will be the new book, ‘Logo Rewind: Trademarks of Medieval Norwich’
