Norwich Jazz Festival 2025

In May 2025, Norwich Arts Centre are very excited to be launching the Norwich Jazz Festival which originally ran at the venue at various points during 80s, 90s and 2000s.
“We’re really looking forward to bringing back the Norwich Jazz Festival after a hiatus of 20 years! Our hope is that the new Norwich Jazz Festival becomes the first of many, with the ambition to grow across more venues in the years ahead.” Bradley Glasspoole, Norwich Jazz Festival Artistic Director
From the 15th-24th May Norwich Arts Centre will be programming performances showcasing the best UK and international Jazz musicians across the city including EPIC Studios, Anteros and more.
Headliners announced include Norwich trio Mammal Hands, Brazilian Jazz-Funk legends, Azymuth, twenty-piece collective, National Youth Jazz Orchestra, Hip Hop-Jazz pioneers Ebi Soda, saxophonist and composer Jasmine Myra and Folk-Jazz artist Caoilfhionn Rose.
The Line-Up

Thursday 15th May 2025 | Caoilfhionn Rose
Manchester artist Caoilfhionn Rose blends folk, jazz, and 20th-century classics with innovative production, creating a unique soundscape of piano, synths, live rhythms, and ambient samples. Her music reimagines traditional songcraft with a modern, experimental spirit, celebrating nature and music’s restorative power.
Friday 16th May 2025 | Jasmine Myra
London-based saxophonist and composer Jasmine Myra creates uplifting, genre-blurring instrumental music inspired by artists like Kenny Wheeler and Bonobo. Emerging from Leeds’ vibrant music scene, her sophomore album Rising builds on the acclaim of her debut, Horizons, cementing her place as a rising star in UK jazz.

Saturday 17th May 2025 | Ebi Soda
Ebi Soda defy tradition with a distinctive fusion of jazz, hip-hop, and no-wave post-punk, drawing more from rave culture and underground UK genres than classic jazz. Their sound features searing trombones, erratic drum breaks, and heavy electronic textures over breakbeats and sensual basslines, embodying constant innovation.
Friday 23rd May 2025 | Azymuth
Azymuth, a pioneering Brazilian jazz-funk trio formed in the 1970s, fused electric jazz, samba, pop, and electronic music, creating the genre “samba doido.” Their influential sound shaped generations of musicians and DJs. With a string of jazz-disco albums in the late ’70s and ’80s, they became global icons, recently playing packed UK shows and a headline set at Gilles Peterson’s We Out Here festival.

Saturday 24th May 2025 | Mammal Hands
Formed in Norwich in 2012, Mammal Hands blend jazz, electronica, and influences from classical, folk, and minimalism into a unique sound praised by tastemakers like Bonobo and Gilles Peterson. With five acclaimed albums, including 2023’s Gift from the Trees, they’ve built a devoted global following.
