PONY UP presents Flat Venus

+ Mama Oh No + Liv
Norwich’s own Flat Venus are celebrating the release of their latest single with a special hometown show at Norwich Arts Centre, presented by PONY UP.
Formed from a close-knit group of friends, the five-piece draws on the dream pop and folk traditions of the 90s, crafting harmony-rich songs that feel both intimate and expansive. Their sound balances vulnerability with atmosphere, layering spaced out, jangling guitars over a driving rhythm section, with vocal arrangements that occasionally verge on “Gregorian chant”. For fans of: The Cranberries, The Sundays, The Pixies
Support comes from Mama Oh No, a Norfolk-based family four-piece whose sound channels Old Soul, blues, and surf influences into something raw and characterful, and Liv, a Norwich-rooted singer-songwriter whose work sits between indie intimacy and alt folk.
Flat Venus
Formed from a group of close friends, Flat Venus is a quintet from Norwich inspired by the dream-pop and folk scene of the 90’s. With a wistful and foreboding approach to their harmony-heavy songs that “verge on Gregorian chant at times”, the group specialise in vulnerable lyrics, spaced-out, hangly guitars, and a driving rhythm section. The group is made up of Kian Garvey (vocals/guitar), Zoe Gouli (vocals/acoustic guitar), Maisie Radley (vocals/bass), Alice Walker (lead guitar) and Acer Smith (drums/vocals).
Mama Oh No
Mama Oh No is a family 4-piece from Norfolk, England. Taking inspiration from Old Soul, Blues, and surf music, the band delivers their own unique blend of swampy guitar, clanging bass, fuzz and spring reverb. The Gascoigne family band is Jack (Vocals & guitar), Issy (Bass) and Tordi (Vocals, Keys & Omnichord), and Jack’s partner Rhi Swift (Drums)
