Following on from our successful London debut at The Other Palace in 2022, Performers International Productions are looking forward to bringing The Show Must Go on – The Musical Theatre Story to the Maddermarket Theatre on 21st April 2024

Featuring performers from both the West End and national tours, The Musical Theatre Story takes you on a narrated journey from the birth of the Modern Musical in the early 1920s, through the Golden Age both on film and stage (Oklahoma!Singing in the RainCarouselWest Side Story, etc), through the rise of the rock and dance shows (Jesus Christ SuperstarChicagoCabaretTommy etc), right up to the present day, where the Epic Musical (Les MiserableMiss SaigonThe Phantom of the Opera), Disney and the Juke Box musical (Jersey BoysWe Will Rock You, etc) have risen to dominate the West End, Broadway and the silver screen.

Whatever your musical theatre taste, this show offers something for all, bringing you some of the most loved songs of musical theatre, alongside some of the more obscure, blending together in a two-hour-whistle-stop-extravaganza of one of the world’s most loved theatrical forms.
