Shears gentleman’s hair cutters is situated in the former cellar of the 7 Steps PH which is now the Book Hive and is well known locally for its eye-catching murals, both inside and out.
Proprietor Stuart Saunders opened Shears way back in 1996 and has been cutting hair there ever since. Popular with students, office workers and locals alike – Shears is also something of an experience. Not only do they offer excellent affordable hair cuts but they play an ever-changing mix of great music too.
Shears is one of the rare barber shops which still takes walk in customers and that’s why the likes of Liam Gallagher, David Baddiel and Wreckless Eric have all popped in for a trim over the years. With hair cuts starting at just £15, plus discounts for kids, students and pensioners, it’s no wonder that Shears is still so popular today.
