Lowell is an independent new record and vintage clothing shop in the heart of the Norwich Lanes. Started by Jack Ames and Cat Stones in 2021, Lowell carefully hand curates all of their stock, finding exciting new record releases from an array of genres as well as timeless vintage clothing that mainly celebrates the 60s and 70s Americana/Western era. They also sell a selection of local artist zines and merchandise to promote the Norwich creative scene.
The main focus of Lowell is to act as a safe space for creatives, hosting an array of events each month that showcase local live music acts with all the money made given to charities including MIND Norfolk to UK Black Pride. Lowell has quickly become an epicentre for creativity and champions young artists that are changing the cultural climate.
Lowell’s motto is Community is Power, and with their sofa area (which looks like a 1970s living room) it allows people to come in and just be, without feeling the pressure to buy anything. They have built and continue to build not only an exciting record and vintage clothing store, but a community hub for the Norwich Lanes.
