In a Lonely Place – A solo exhibition by Marina Inoue

Marina Inoue returns to Shug Gallery for her second solo exhibition following the success of her previous show. Opening on Friday 26th July, this new body of work explores memory, identity, homesickness and the uneasy relationship between nostalgia and reality through the lens of the American dream. Created while living away from the United States, Marina’s paintings draw on personal memories, found imagery and cultural mythology to present an America that feels at once familiar, seductive and unsettling.
Marina will be in attendance for the opening reception from 5–8pm.
